How to install
indicators in MetaTrader 5 (MT5).
Download the indicator
Begin by obtaining the indicator file in the
appropriate format, which is typically an EX5 file for MT5 indicators
Open MetaTrader 5: Launch the MetaTrader 5 platform
on your computer.
Locate the "Navigator" panel
The Navigator panel is usually located on the
left-hand side of the MetaTrader 5 platform. If it's not visible, you can
enable it by going to the "View" menu and selecting
"Navigator."
Find the "Indicators" section
In the Navigator panel, look for the
"Indicators" section.
Copy or move the indicator file
Take the indicator file you downloaded (the EX5
file) and copy or move it to the appropriate folder. The folder location will
depend on your operating system
Windows: C:\Program Files\MetaTrader
5\MQL5\Indicators
macOS: Applications > MetaTrader 5 > Show
Package Contents > drive_c > Program Files > MetaTrader 5 > MQL5
> Indicators
Linux: Home > .wine > drive_c > Program
Files > MetaTrader 5 > MQL5 > Indicators
Refresh the "Navigator" panel
Right-click on the "Indicators" section in
the "Navigator" panel and select "Refresh." This action
will update the list and display the newly added indicator.
Apply the indicator to a chart
Drag and drop the indicator from the
"Navigator" panel onto the desired chart. Alternatively, you can double-click
the indicator name in the "Navigator" panel, select the chart you
want to apply it to, and click "OK."
Once you've completed these steps, the indicator
should be applied to the chart, and you can customize its settings according to
your preferences.
